When you activate the BAK2u service on our website, you register yourcontacts to the device. Why don't Ijust write my name on my valuable items? PhoneBAK - When the finder replaced theowner's SIM cardwithhis, PhoneBAK will silently send a SMS to the pre-defined mobile phonenumber. It is important to test out the pre-defined local number by simplyinterchanging with another SIM card first before actual use. Phoenix- When the finder did not enter the correct password upon connecting tothe internet, it will silently send an email to the pre-defined emailaddresss (twitter). If you areusing Windows/Mac authentication for login, you can setup a dummyaccount (with administrative privileges). Do not put any password inthat account. Install Phoenix and configure the settingsin that account. This will allow the thief to login to the systemwithout any windows based authentication. Once the thief is logged intothe dummy account, Phoenix will be triggered. Arethere anytechnical or local support? BAK2u has presence in Singapore and various countries through our partners to provide thenecessary supports, including documents for owners to report to policefor non-recoverable cases too. Can I use thesame program for any other devices? Each copy of anti-theft program is licensed to only 01 registereddevice. It is therefore non-transferable. Who willrecover the lost device? As the device has been pre-configured with contact numbers, thereceiver of the alert can contact the finder directly and make thenecessary arrangement or can report to the police to be dealt with too. How wouldBAK2u deal with non-recoverable cases? Refer to the police in the event when the finder does not want toreturn the phone. Save the SMS alert received as evidence of the theft. In the event, that there is no sms received to the pre-defined mobilenumber after the phone is lost, the device could have been lost and notfound. BAK2u does not warrant that the anti-theft software will beuninterrupted and/or error-free. Allpurchases are non-refundable. 3.All software provided to customers by BAK2u are covered under andsubject to the terms of warranty from the relevant PDA, mobilephone,computersmanufacturers. BAK2u is not responsible for any defects of the softwaredue to manufacturer's or customer's fault and if applicable, anyhardware which customers may have installed. 4. Customersshall ensure that the software purchased is compatible with their PDAphones/laptop/mobilephone/computer system. Customers shall ensure thattheirdevices are not SIM locked as it may prevent any SMS from being sentout. BAK2u will not be responsible should the device fail to work onthe customer's PDAphones/laptop/mobilephone/computer system . 5. BAK2u shall notbe liable for any costs, loss or damage (whether direct or indirect),or for loss of revenue, loss of profits or any consequential losswhatsoever as a result of your using of the software. 6. SMSservices to send out the SMS alerts are subject to networkavailability, device capability and other conditions. SMS service speedmight vary depending on coverage, location and devices used networktraffic. 7. You shall indemnify us against all claims thatanyone threatens or makes against us relating to your use of ourservices or due to your breach, negligence or omission. Wemay, at any time, amend or delete any of our terms and conditions,suspend or change any of our services. We will give you notice (whichmay include advertisement, statements, letters, by posting on ourwebsite or such other forms as we deem appropriate) of such changes.Such notice shall state when the changes will take effect and if youcontinue to use the service after such date, you will be deemed to haveaccepted the changes. |
